Sustainability and Environmental Protection at the Kaiserhof
As responsible entrepreneurs, we began years ago to gradually make the Kaiserhof as “green” as possible. We have been certified for our sustainability since 2013.
♦ CLIMATE PROTECTION IS NOT A PROJECT, BUT AN ONGOING PROCESS ♦
In comprehensive sustainability audits conducted annually by the European-renowned and leading German Institute for Sustainability & Economics, the following areas are examined and evaluated:
- product and service quality,
- resource and environmental conservation,
- ecological, social and regional responsibility,
- economic future orientation, and
- energy and environmentally conscious corporate management
. The Kaiserhof has passed each time with excellent results. One reason for this is that we haven’t rested on our laurels after an initial initiative. Instead, we regularly address specific areas of the hotel, review measures already implemented, and research environmentally friendly alternatives to the materials and products we use. We welcome ideas from employees, guests, and even industry leaders to help us evolve. For us, climate protection is not a one-time project, but an ongoing process.
Starting July 1, 2025, we will no longer offer daily room cleaning; a free cleaning service will be provided after two nights. As a guest, you help us reduce costs, save water for cleaning and laundry, and save electricity for the dryer and vacuum cleaner.
The German Institute for Sustainability & Economics writes in its audit report: “As a tradition-conscious company, the Hotel Kaiserhof is aware of its key role as a responsible business in Münster. In its use of energy and resource conservation, the company sets exemplary standards through its continuous willingness to invest in new technologies and comprehensive construction measures. As a valuable employer for the Münsterland region, it invests above-average efforts in a high-quality training and continuing education strategy. The city of Münster is rewarded with the strengthening of the regional economy and the highest cultural value through the socio-economic sensitivity and strong social commitment of the Kaiserhof management. Sustainability is actively practiced at the Hotel Kaiserhof for the benefit of guests and the environment. Consciously booking guests – both private and business – who incorporate the services of this company into their business and private lives, thus strengthen and support the sustainable, positive development of the environment in which they live!”
